Hello lovelies! Today I bring you another special blog post written by my friend, Michaela. She's going to show you her OOTD (outfit of the day) from Easter and introduce you to a pretty awesome store. Enjoy!
So today I'm going to talk about the outfit I wore for Easter. Specifically about a particular piece, which I will get to in a second. To start off I wore this pretty pink ombre striped high-low dress from Kohls. I love pink and it just says Easter to me for some reason.
Underneath the dress I am wearing a Cami Secret. This is a really cool product that you can buy at Bed Bath & Beyond. It's basically just a small piece of fabric that you clip to your undergarments to make it look like you're wearing a cami. I love these because they create modesty without adding the bulk of another layer.
To add some structure to the dress I added this white knitted cardigan from Target. (I also wanted some pockets; I always find that I need them!)
Then I just accessorized with brown strappy sandals (my new favorite love from Target), a ring from Claire's and this bracelet.
Now this is what I really want to talk about. It's a beautiful glass beaded roll-on bracelet from a store called Latitudes. OK, I just have to say that I'm OBSESSED with this store right now. It's so cute and pretty and all of the things are just beautiful. I want it all.
Latitudes is a genuine business outlet (some of the ways third world countries make money is illegal). Latitudes lets artisans create traditional products and sell them (legally) to provide their families and communities with stability and income. Which I think is awesome. So far, Latitudes has helped people in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
OK, back to the bracelet. I love what it represents: hope. You see the single red bead? This has a very special meaning. The women who make these bracelets have been rescued from human trafficking. The red bead reminds them that they are beautiful and valuable. It also reminds me that no matter who you are or where you come from, everyone has a second chance. A chance to start anew. And isn't that what Easter is all about? New life in Christ. Jesus died for these women and I think it's great that they can share their whole testimony in a single bead.
