THE CHALLENGES: This month's calendar features daily prayer ideas to help you form the habit of prayer in your life.
The reason I decided to do a prayer challenge this month is because it's something I actually really need in my life, and I hope it will help many of you, too! To be totally honest, my prayer life is not very good. I do pray, but not nearly as much as I should. I don't set aside a special time to do it every day. I can read and study the Bible and journal in it for hours, but I have so much trouble just being still and praying. But I know how powerful and important prayer is, and I can feel it missing in my life. So, I want to do something about it! That's why I made this month's Little Bible Plan a 31 Day Prayer Challenge. I'm challenging myself to set aside time every morning to talk to my best friend, God. And I'd love if you joined me! I've included things to pray for each day to get you started, but don't stop there! I encourage you (and myself) to spend quite a good chunk of time in prayer each day. And don't feel bad if you miss days—prayer isn't going to make God love you more (His love isn't based on what you do; He loves you because that's who He is!), but it does help draw you closer to Him, just like you might get closer to a friend every time you have a meaningful conversation with them. And there is indescribable power in prayer! I honestly can't wait to chat with my Heavenly Father this month. I want it to become a familiar and normal part of my life. I want Him to get used to hearing from me every day!
I'm also going to be posting my favorite verses and quotes about prayer on Instagram and Twitter this month, so look out for those and feel free to post some of your own! You can use the hashtag #littlebibleplan if you'd like.
