Easter is right around the corner! I couldn't be more excited! If you think you're too old to decorate eggs, think again. Thanks mainly to Pinterest, there are so many adorable and fun ideas for creators of all ages! Here are just three egg decorating ideas that I loved making and think you will, too!
To start, you'll need an Easter egg decorating kit with egg dye. Instructions on how to prepare the dye will be found on the back of the box. And, of course, you'll need to hard-boil some eggs!
1. Sharpie Design
I love this DIY because it's so simple yet looks adorable! All you need is an egg and some Sharpies. (These fine point Sharpies that a friend let me use are perfect for small designs, but regular Sharpies will work, too.) You can create any quote/design/doodle that you want!
TIP: Set your egg in a roll of washi tape to make decorating easier.
2. Emoji Face
First, place your egg in yellow dye and let it sit until the color is as dark as you want. (Mine took about eight to ten minutes.) After you remove it and let it dry, simply pick an emoji face you like and doodle it on with Sharpies! (For any emojis with white features, such as eyes or teeth, I recommend using white paint.)
TIP: Practice the face on paper a few times before drawing it on the egg.
3. Polka Dot
For this DIY, just find some round stickers from the dollar store or that you might have kicking around your house and stick them on an egg. Place your egg in the dye for a few minutes, remove and let dry. Then peel the stickers off! The dye might seep under your sticker a little (see my polka dot egg at the top of this post), but I love how it came out!
TIP: You can also use this same idea with electrical tape to create neat designs.
I hope you liked these easy peasy DIYs! If you try any of them out, please post them on Instagram or Twitter and tag me (@christiangirls & @littlefaithblog) so I can see!
